Air Italy on the move

Direct flights between Milan Malpensa and Bangkok have been announced by the newly-formed Air Italy as part of its initial development programme. The four-a-week service starts on 6 September.

Other plans for 2018 by the carrier, formed from the relaunch of Meridiana (BTN last week), include six intercontinental flights from Milan Malpensa and five domestic services.

The programme begins on 1 May with multi-day flights from Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, and Lamezia Terme, which have been designed to connect from 1 June with a Malpensa – New York service.

This will be followed on 8 June by the launch of flights between Malpensa and Miami and then on 9 September by the Malpensa – Bangkok route.

Commercial director Andrea Andorno said: “Following the launch of Milan – New York and Milan – Miami services, Malpensa – Bangkok line represents a significant step for the development of our new network to include an important Oriental destination.

“The use of an Airbus 330-200 on this route will introduce our passengers to a completely new travel experience: they will be able to enjoy an exclusive quality service designed to meet all their comfort needs.”
