AND FINALLY: Is Michael running scared?

For many journalists one of the highlights of any week is the calling of a press conference by Ryanair’s controversial Michael O’Leary.  It did not matter if it was a collection of truths, half-truths or downright lies.  He is a fine story teller well before a certain gentleman in the United States.

Late last year Ryanair had serious problems with its pilots.  And the skirmishes with the hacks just never took place.  London was taboo for Michael.

Last week Ryanair came out with its quarterly results and a press conference that nobody seemed to have been invited to.

The Times sussed him out.

What O’Leary did was to publish a Stock Exchange announcement as required by law, discuss it on film, followed by a video interview with a ‘friendly’ writer. Hardly a press conference.

Surely, he can do better than that. Very bizare.
