New Singapore hotels

Six Senses Hotels Resorts and Spas has announced the latest project in the group’s expanding portfolio with its first two city hotels in Singapore; Six Senses Duxton and Six Senses Maxwell.

Located in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown, this remarkable conservation project is split across two locations and sees the restoration of two existing heritage buildings.  Two of the world’s most iconic hotel designers have been engaged; Anouska Hempel – acclaimed for The Hempel Hotel and Blakes in London – and Jacques Garcia, famed for his work including The Peninsula Paris and Hotel Costes.

Opening first, in April, is the Six Senses Duxton in old Chinatown’s Tanjong Pagar.  In harmony with the area’s rich Asian history, Anouska has given each of the 49 guestrooms and suites complete individuality. The public areas include strong hues of black, gold and yellow and the restaurant will offer a fine dining menu of classic and innovative Chinese cuisine.

Also in the heart of Chinatown, opposite the traditional hawker centre, Six Senses Maxwell was originally a nutmeg plantation before the construction of its now-existing colonial buildings.  July 2018 is the target for completion.

The hotel will offer 138 guestrooms and suites as well as a Six Senses Spa, outdoor swimming pool, Champagne bar and lounge, whisky bar, boardroom and club lounge.
