AND FINALLY: Ugly Sweater Day

As daft promotions go, this might have you in stitches, but we are definitely not pulling the wool over your eyes. The Alaska Airlines group is offering free early boarding next Friday, 15 December, to passengers who turn up for their flights in festive jumpers. 

Apparently it’s National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day in the US and the promotion applies to all Alaska Airlines, Virgin America and Horizon Air flights across the group’s 115-city network.

As one observer noted: “Stand by for tacky tinsel-covered apparel dotted with LED lights and singing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on repeat in the airport.” 

We could say such persons could be dubbed knitwits, but we’ll resist.
