Star entertainment at easyJet

Passengers were taken by surprise to see Hollywood A-listers Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp pictured together on an easyJet flight from Gatwick to Geneva.

All was revealed when the airline confessed the stars were lookalikes planted to celebrate the launch of its new 'Air Time' inflight entertainment system on five of its Swiss fleet as part of a trial before rolling out across the whole fleet of 279 Airbus A320s.

Developed in partnership with Immfly, 'Air Time' enables passengers to tune in on their own devices to a range of short-haul-suited entertainment including TV and film, children’s entertainment, games, audio books, flight information and destination guides.

Content will cover multiple languages including English, German, French, Spanish and Italian and feature services such as onboard language tutorials and digital relaxation programmes. The system also includes Immfly’s Euronews information services which include articles on international news, business, culture, sci-tech and European affairs.

EasyJet ancillary director Andrew Middleton said: “We were delighted to have had a bit of fun with passengers and our three Hollywood ‘stars’ – who better to showcase our new Air Time offering of the latest films, TV box sets and more?”
