Shangri-La arrives in Xiamen

The island city of Xiamen has joined the portfolio of Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts with the opening of a 325-room “urban resort” described by the company as “a lifestyle destination” for business and leisure travellers.

Shangri-La Hotel Xiamen overlooks a long stretch of beach on one side and urban views on the other and is within the city’s newly-developed financial and IT zone, the Guanyin Shan Business Centre.

A 10min drive from the Xiamen Conference and Exhibition Centre, and 20min from the city’s international airport, the hotel offers views of the Taiwan Straits and a selection of accommodation ranging from a 42sq m sea view room to the 168sq m Shangri-La Suite.

Other features include two restaurants and a lobby lounge, the Horizon Club with a spacious open-air terrace, use of local Minnan-style architecture and public areas showcasing local artists’ work and the community’s culture.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently operates more than 100 hotels with a room inventory of more than 41,000. All the properties are 5-star deluxe standard featuring extensive luxury facilities and services.
