Business travellers have a new luxury facility at Madrid Airport after Iberia refurbished its Velázquez Lounge at Terminal 4.
Work-orientated features in the 2,500sq m space include USB charging ports embedded in lounge chairs.
Restaurant tables in the lounge also have the facility so users can charge all types of electronic devices and there is an open work area where passengers can hold meetings while awaiting flights.
Iberia says technology is also transforming the meal service, with touch-screen tablet computers being installed in the buffet area to supply latest information about food and drink on offer along with recommendations for a healthy diet.
The larger and improved restaurant and buffet areas also adapt to the different times of day and night, as a way of helping long-distance travellers to adjust their biological clocks.
The rest zone features chaise-longues and there are six large shower cabins with all the amenities, while a “Vinothècque” offers a selection of 22 Spanish regional wines, with 13 reds, eight whites, and one rosé.
