Frankfurt's green facelift

Passengers using Frankfurt Airport now have a range of new facilities to enjoy with the completion of a major facelift for Departures Hall B at the heart of Terminal 1. The area is now brighter and more open, with green “oases” adding to the atmosphere.

The project has also opened a new Frankfurt Airport Bistrot, which officials say “restores Departures Hall B to its traditional and cherished function as a central marketplace and meeting point”.

The new restaurant is flanked on both sides by green waiting areas with lush greenery shielding modern seating areas from the bustle of the terminal both visually and in terms of atmosphere. New lighting has also been installed for the waiting areas and bistro in a pleasant.

A new-look information desk has been designed to complement the overall impression of the departures hall, with information on departures, arrivals and airport services as well as advice and support on all travel issues.
