Prime routes in Europe and China on the Delta Air Lines network are joining the Airbus A350-900 club next year as the airline extends its flagship service to flights from Detroit to Amsterdam and Shanghai.
Delta has scheduled the aircraft on one of four daily flights between Detroit and Amsterdam from 31 March and will also deploy an A350 on its Detroit – Shanghai service beginning on 19 April.
The first of Delta’s A350-900s is scheduled to enter service between Detroit and Tokyo-Narita on 30 October, with operations to Seoul starting on 18 November and Beijing on 17 January.
The aircraft features the Delta One Suite and the new Premium Select cabin, as well as an enhanced Main Cabin. Delta is the North American launch carrier for the A350.
In other developments, Delta One passengers flying to select European destinations from New York-JFK and Atlanta will be able to pre-select their meals to ensure they receive their first choice on board.
And Delta has upgraded the latest version of the Fly Delta app to streamline its service with a system that checks in eligible passengers automatically 24hr before their scheduled departure.
