Described as “a highlight in the ongoing renewal of our fleet”, Israel’s flag carrier El Al last week celebrated the delivery of its first Boeing B787 Dreamliner. The airline has leased the aircraft through an agreement with Air Lease Corporation.
David Maimon: 'A revolution in the customer experience'
El Al Dreamliners will include ViaSat wi-fi, a new Premium Economy cabin and lie-flat seats supplied by Recaro in Business Class. The airline is acquiring 16 of the aircraft.
They will start to enter commercial service on routes to Europe next month before being deployed on long-haul routes to the US and Far East.
Maimon added: "The arrival of the new airplanes will create a revolution in the customer experience. We have set a high standard of service and product excellence to maintain our position as first and preferred choice for passengers to and from Israel.
"I am convinced this significant procurement of 787s is a great opportunity for us to meet the highest levels expected. The Dreamliner will ensure our customers receive exceptional comfort, innovative technology, advanced aircraft and quality service."
