Orient opens in Jerusalem

Israel’s newest luxury hotel has begun welcoming guests in the heart of Jerusalem’s German Colony on an historic site once inhabited by the German Templar Society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Orient Jerusalem says it aims to offer a combination of old and new while unifying East and West through modern amenities, world-class service and acknowledgements to its neighbourhood’s special heritage.

The property is the newest member of the Isrotel hotel group’s Exclusive Collection of 5-star hotels, with the company dubbing it the “Jewel of Jerusalem”, marking a “significant milestone” in the travel industry’s further development in Israel’s capital.

Features of the Orient include a prime location 20min from the Old City, with 243 upmarket guestrooms spread across a newly-constructed central complex and two preserved Templar buildings from the 1880s.

Guests have access to an award-winning Carmel Forest spa which includes an authentic Turkish hammam and two pools including a rooftop infinity pool with views overlooking the Old City.

The hotel is also home to the Orient Jerusalem contemporary art collection, one of the few of its kind fully owned by a hotel chain, and an on-site museum of artifacts in tribute to the Templars.
