Crystal Skye bows in

A special-edition Boeing B777-200LR named Crystal Skye became the newest member of Crystal AirCruises’ expanding fleet last week at an official handover ceremony at Boeing Field in Seattle.

The aircraft, said to be the largest privately-owned tour jet in the world, was delivered to Crystal CEO and president Edie Rodriguez by design company Greenpoint Technologies and will be deployed for charter service for some of the world’s most discriminating travellers.

Crystal Skye is designed for up to 88 guests and is claimed to have the highest crew to passenger ratio of any twin-aisle aircraft. She will be christened in Las Vegas next Saturday, 12 August.

Features include bespoke Crystal Exclusive Class seats designed for maximum personal space and convertible to 180deg lie-flat beds, plus an onboard social lounge with stand-up bar.

Food will be prepared by an executive chef in two state-of-the-art galleys and paired with a premium wine list from Crystal’s own cellar.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Crystal Skye to the family, as she marks the beginning of a new chapter and realm of luxury travel for our guests,” Rodriguez said.
