In celebration of its 80 years of service in Denver, United Airlines last week said it was launching a daily non-stop seasonal service between Denver International Airport (DEN) and Heathrow next year.
The service will start on 24 March and operate until 26 October. United says the new service will provide convenient connections for passengers from nearly 80 domestic US destinations to the UK.
Vice-president Denver hub Steve Jaquith said: “United has played an integral role in serving the Denver region and helping Denver International become an essential hub connecting business and leisure travellers to destinations worldwide."
United Airlines has served the Denver community since 1937 and is the only airline to operate there continuously – operating 6.5m flights serving more than 580m passengers during this time.
United announced in May it would be starting daily non-stop service between Denver and its hub at Tokyo Narita International Airport, starting next spring. It also plans to launch daily non-stops linking the Denver hub with the new markets of Shreveport in Louisiana and Grand Forks, North Dakota.
In addition, existing summer-season flights between Denver and Anchorage are being upgraded to year-round service.
