Luton adds bus service

A new A2 service between London and Luton Airport from coach operator National Express hit the road last week, adding another 35 daily departures, or 1,600 extra seats a day, straight to the airport terminal.

In a first for the Luton Airport service, the A2 will also pick up passengers from Paddington Station and Finchley Road and Frognal, as well as calling at existing stops in North London on the way to the airport.

With a coach departing Paddington approximately every 30min and a scheduled journey time of 1hr 10min, the new service complements the existing A1 operation that runs 49 direct daily departures from London Victoria to the airport.

Both services will call at existing stops at Baker Street, St John’s Wood, Finchley Road and Golders Green. National Express managing director Chris Hardy said: “Getting to the airport should be hassle free.”

Luton Airport commercial director Rupert Lawrie added: “The airport is undergoing the largest development in its history and customers are starting to see the benefits.

“We’re making the airport easier to reach than ever as we improve road links and public transport access. The new A2 service will offer passengers even greater choice.”
