London acquired its latest big-name hotel last weekend with the opening of the Nobu Hospitality Group’s property in Shoreditch. Features include 143 guest rooms and seven suites, meeting space, a lobby bar and a 240-seat restaurant.
Nobu Hotel Shoreditch will also be opening a pocket garden to create what the company describes as a public space between “the vibrant streets and the calmness of the hotel, to offer an oasis in the heart of east London”.
With the group renowned for its cuisine, pioneered by chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the property’s 340sq m (3,660sq ft) restaurant will feature signature dishes, sushi and Shoreditch-inspired menus and cocktails.
For guests wishing to witness the food under preparation, there is an exclusive 10-seat sushi bar and an 18-seat chef’s table with prime views of both the main kitchen and sushi chefs at work.
The hotel also features adaptable meeting and event spaces to cater for a range of occasions, from family celebrations to business conferences. The layout can be used as one large space of 180sq m (1,937sq ft) accommodating 200 people for a cocktail reception or 120 for a seated event, or divided into six separate spaces.
