Air Europa Dreamliner No 8

An eighth Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner has joined the Air Europa fleet and begun operating on the Madrid – Lima route. The carrier has incorporated the eight aircraft into its line-up in just one year and three months.

The rest of the Dreamliners are deployed on routes to Miami, Bogota, Santo Domingo, Buenos Aires and Havana, with Air Europa becoming the first Spanish airline to have this state-of-the-art aircraft.

Delivery of the eighth B787 marks the completion of phase one of the airline’s renovation project. The second phase will gradually introduce 14 Boeing 787-9s between 2018 and 2022.

Air Europa will also receive 20 new B37 MAXs from 2020, marking the completion of its transition to a fleet composed entirely of Boeing aircraft.

UK director Colin Stewart said: “Since launching in 2010, Lima is one of our strongest destinations and UK passengers can now start their journeys in Gatwick, connect easily through our Madrid hub and enjoy the Dreamliner for the onward leg to Peru.

“With eight Dreamliners now in operation, our ambitions are being realised to become the benchmark airline connecting Europe with the Americas, with a cutting-edge fleet, excellent connectivity and premium onboard services.”
