Lufthansa UK winter growth

More flights from Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin from the start of the winter timetable on 29 October are being added by Lufthansa in response to passenger demand from the UK and Ireland.

An additional flight on both the Manchester – Frankfurt and Dublin – Frankfurt services increases capacity on the two routes by around 25% and 30% respectively.

Flights between Glasgow and Munich are being expanded to four a week following the success of the airline’s seasonal service – the first time the service has operated in winter. All services will be operated by Airbus A320 family aircraft.

Senior sales director UK, Ireland and Iceland Andreas Koester said: “The UK and Ireland continue to shine as key markets for Lufthansa within our network. Demand continues to grow and we have been able to increase capacity accordingly.”

Lufthansa’s winter season will also feature six new destinations in Europe from Frankfurt. Kuusamo (Finland) and Cluj and Timișoara (both in Romania), are being offered from Frankfurt for the first time.

The Lufthansa summer destinations of Reykjavik, Palermo and and Santiago de Compostela will also be offered from the airline’s main hub all year round for the first time.
