AMG to the rescue

Carriers facing financial turbulence and increasingly challenging market conditions in the future now have a new source of assistance in the form of the Airline Management Group (AMG), founded by Peter Davies, former turnaround CEO of Brussels Airlines, Caribbean Airlines and Air Malta.

“Results for 2016 rank among the industry’s top three of all time, but a substantial number of airlines remain on the wrong side of the line in respect of financial performance, and challenges ahead,” Davies said.

AMG had been borne out of the need for a company that could implement transformation and change rather than simply consult and had brought together a group of industry experts with consultant and strategy adviser Professor Rigas Doganis as chairman with that aim in mind, he added.

“We are airline people, our focus is airline management, we are all about strategy and implementation, and we are well placed to support these ‘challenged’ companies,” Davies went on.

“The principal focus of AMG is hands-on implementation. There is a need and an opportunity for a specialist team that creates a sense of passion and professionalism among the employees, a brand and product that customers will buy and a sustainable profitable return for its shareholders.”
