Vietnam keeps up the pace

Keeping up its recent fast-paced momentum, Vietnam Airlines has taken delivery of its 11th Boeing 787 Dreamliner and moved part of its operations to the brand new Terminal T2 at Da Nang International Airport.

The arrival of the latest Dreamliner marks the final delivery of the airline’s order of B787-9s, which has been competed in less than two years. To strengthen the fleet further in pursuit of the carrier’s expansion plans, eight B787-10s are scheduled to be delivered over the next few years.

In the airport move, all Vietnam Airlines international flights arriving in and departing from Da Nang are now operating from Terminal T2 instead of T1. All international check-in counters have also been moved to one area to ease passenger flow.

The company has a total of 22 check-in counters on the second floor of the new terminal’s departure hall, including three counters, numbers 20, 21 and 22, for Business Class passengers, with potential for further expansion depending on demand.

An 860sq m business lounge with capacity for 180 passengers in a separate area on the third floor serves frequent flyers and Business Class passengers of Vietnam Airlines as well as other international carriers.
