Paris Air Show 2017 beckons

The 52nd edition of the Paris Air Show will be held from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 June at Le Bourget Airport, with the first four days reserved for trade professionals and a pioneering new exhibition space on show called Paris Air Lab.

Located at the heart of the show in the Concorde Hall of the Air and Space Museum, the 2,000sq m area will be devoted to the innovations of today and tomorrow.

The area will also host daily presentations and keynote speeches from key manufacturers in the sector, introducing a themed series of "pitches" from start-ups.

Another feature of the show is likely to be an appearance by one of Mitsubishi Aircraft’s MRJ regional jet prototypes, probably in partnership with launch customer All Nippon Airways.

Mitsubishi president Hisakazu Mizutani said the company was monitoring the performance of four flight test aircraft at its Moses Lake flight test centre closely, and hoped to decide which aircraft jet to bring, “depending on airframe conditions”.

He added: "We had to delay the MRJ's delivery schedule, but on the other hand the aircraft are successfully doing flight tests in America. I think it would give a lot of confidence to people around the world if we are able to bring the MRJ to the show."
