A specialist consultancy and agency promoting travel and transportation products to the North American market has been launched in Washington DC by former London City, VLM, Sabre, Air Berlin and Thomas Cook Group Airlines executive Titus Johnson.
Airspan, which also has a European office in London, is designed to provide solutions, sales and marketing for European airlines and travel companies wishing to develop contacts, revenues and profitable market share in North America and the Caribbean.
Lonodn-born Johnson, who holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from City University School of Engineering and Mathematical Science, says a particular focus of the company is on low-cost long-haul.
He is also keen to promote market opportunities for carriers at primary and secondary North American Airports with the new generation of single-aisle long-range aircraft.
“There is significant pent-up demand by business and leisure US consumers for international travel, coupled with a robust US dollar,” Johnson points out.
“Meanwhile, more and more European travel suppliers are looking at the US to develop sales and marketing operations and optimise their share in this lucrative and rapidly growing market for international travel.”
