Kerry Hotel for Hong Kong

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is to unveil the first Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong and its fourth property in the city on 28 April to give the city its first new-build hotel to open on the Kowloon waterfront since 1995.

The company says the Kerry will bring a contemporary approach to luxury hospitality to the shores of Victoria Harbour with expansive outdoor areas, lively restaurants, comfortable guestrooms and panoramic views.

Architect and interior designer Andre Fu has created the 16-storey hotel to embody what he calls his concept of ‘relaxed luxury’ to take full advantage of the waterfront location.

Features include large outdoor landscaped gardens connecting to the hotel’s many public leisure areas to create an oasis within Hong Kong’s bustling Hung Hom neighbourhood.

More than 60% of the 546 guestrooms and suites, which range from 42sq m (about 452sq ft), will feature views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The 17 meeting venues include the largest pillarless hotel ballroom in the city at 1,765sq m (about 19,998sq ft) and harbourfront outdoor landscaped terraces. The hotel will also be home to the city’s largest LED wall at 15.4mx4.3m (50.5ftx14ft).
