AND FINALLY: Is the future electric after all?

In the spirit of nothing being impossible, BTN brings you news that a US-based start-up airline is planning to launch electronic-powered passenger flights from London to Paris within 10 years.

Wright Electric, which is working with easyJet, told the BBC its aim is to develop a plane for 150 passengers, although as Simon Calder pointed out in The Independent, the design depends on battery improvements using current technology, such an aircraft could barely take off.

EasyJet told the BBC: "Easyjet has had discussions with Wright Electric and is actively providing an airline operator's perspective on the development of this exciting technology."
