Big expansion at Dusit

An “unprecedented” period of growth for the Bangkok-based hotel operator Dusit International is due to be unveiled at this year’s ITB Berlin, with the company planning to grow from 29 properties in eight countries to 69 in more than 20 countries in the next three to four years.

Dusit’s delegation at the show, which begins on Wednesday (8 March) and continues until next Sunday, will be led by chief operating officer Lim Boon Kwee, who said the emphasis would be on building the group’s international presence.

 “In order to capitalise further on recent successes and increased awareness of our core brands, Dusit Thani and dusitD2, in new markets in the US, China and Kenya, we have dramatically ramped up our pipeline of new openings,” he said.

“We have 40 additional properties already confirmed over the next three to four years which will see the company enter new markets in Turkey, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa while extending our presence in the key areas.”

Major openings set for the next 12 months include dusitD2 Thimphu (Bhutan), opening late this year, Dusit Thani Laguna (Singapore), set to open in early 2018, and Dusit Thani Brookwater Resort Golf & Spa Resort, Queensland (Australia).
