Aeronexus celebration

Rock band Guns N’ Roses set the seal on VIP air charters last week, concluding a month-long Asia Pacific tour on board a specially-liveried Boeing 767-300ER as aircraft operator Aeronexus marked its first birthday.

Since founders Gavin Harrison and Sven Petersen introduced the B767-300ER to the Aeronexus fleet last year, the aircraft has accomplished a busy 12 months of diverse charter activity, making full use of its worldwide Air Operator Certificate (AOC) – a status the company attained in 2002.

The Guns N’ Roses tour saw the wide-body visit Tokyo, Wellington, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Singapore, Bangkok and Dubai before returning to its home at Stansted on Thursday. Aeronexus worked with charter broker Premier Aviation (UK) on the trip.

Before the 767 started revenue service, the company asked Starling Aerospace to undertake a major cabin refurbishment, which saw the aircraft stripped, refurbished and refitted with 96 lie-flat Sicma Zodiac seats.

Configured in a six-abreast layout and upholstered in cream leather, each seat offers a 73in pitch and power for clients’ laptops, phones and tablets. An AdonisOne in-flight entertainment system offers passengers more than 90 films, music, magazines and a live route map.

Aeronexus head of sales and marketing Gareth Evans said: “Client response has been extremely positive.”
