Stansted is getting cheaper

In a bid to take people off the road the Stansted Express has announced reduced fares across the board.  Although not a proper express – it stops at Tottenham Hale (for the Victoria Underground), and either Harlow or Bishops Stortford – it is the quickest way to the airport from central London.

Fares now start from just £7 per person each way when booked in advance or when four people make a return journey together. Standard single fares are now only £16.60, or £28 return between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.

The new fares includes fully flexible travel on any train on date of travel (and return tickets are valid for up to one month), no hidden fees, unlimited baggage allowance and free wi-fi.  There is a service every 15 minutes with recent official figures demonstrating that it is also the most popular form of transport to the airport.

Journey time to/from London Liverpool Street is just 47 minutes or 36 minutes from Tottenham Hale (also in London) and the train station at the airport is directly under the airport terminal, just a 2min walk to check-in.  There is also a service every 30min to Cambridge, journey time also 30min, with connections available to Birmingham and the North.
