WOW targets business travel

Business seats and priority boarding are being offered for the first time on WOW Air from 1 June as the carrier continues to challenge other airlines in the transatlantic market with its low-cost model.

The airline says the development will allow passengers to upgrade from the current standard service and choose from three different bundles, including WOW Biz, costing from £156.

Biz passengers will be able to have a checked bag as well as a carry-on plus seat reservation and cancellation protection, priority boarding, a free hot meal and drink on board and a larger seat where available.

WOW Plus, from £79, offers an Economy seat, personal item, carry-on bag plus a checked bag, and cancellation protection. WOW Basic, from £32, includes an Economy seat.

A new cabin of “Big Seats” will also be available in WOW Air's A330s and in other aircraft with XXL (35-37in) and XL (32-34in) seats on the fleet’s A320s and A321s.

Founder and CEO Skuli Mogensen said: “We have worked hard to lower airfares across the Atlantic to give more people the opportunity to travel. Now we intend on lowering the prices for business by providing many of the same services for a much better price.”
