More New York from United

A sixth daily nonstop flight between Heathrow and New York Newark is to be operated this summer by United Airlines. Services will use the B763-300 with 214 seats, including 30 flat-bed models in Polaris Business Class and 184 in Economy Class.

The schedule, from 5 April to 28 October westbound, means the carrier will be offering more flights per day to its New York area hub than any other carrier operating from Heathrow.

Managing director – sales, UK and Ireland Bob Schumacher said: “This additional flight continues to demonstrate the success of our services from Heathrow to the US East Coast.

“Our New York hub provides our UK customers with more travel options, not only to the Big Apple but also offers an extensive range of connections from Newark to destinations across the US and beyond.”

United offers nonstop transatlantic service from more cities in the UK than any other airline. From Heathrow, it has up to 17 flights per day to six US hubs – Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC Dulles.

The airline also offers nonstop service from Edinburgh to New York/Newark and on a seasonal basis to Chicago, and from Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow to New York Newark.
