Users of private jets are no longer the mega-rich tycoons or A-list celebrities of legend but are more likely to be an ordinary business traveller who prefers the convenience of last-minute booking and has an appointment in Paris.
The new profile comes from the booking platform Private Fly, which has revealed the typical private jet user will probably have a more modest profile than many observers might have expected.
According to the company’s latest Private Jet Charter Trends, the average customer is likely to be a 41-year-old man travelling with three or four other passengers from London to Paris – the most requested route – and booking less than a week before flying.
PrivateFly says its analysis is based on data from private jet users over the past 12 months, with the technology-driven platform now receiving more than 200,000 unique website visitors every month.
CEO Adam Twidell said: “There is a growing crossover between the profile of the private jet user and the airline passenger. High-spending clients are a small minority. Most private jet users are business owners or families happy to pay a premium for a better travel experience.”
