Flybe strengthens Virgin link

Scottish travellers have been handed a new link to international destinations including Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, and Dubai thanks to a new codeshare deal marking closer co-operation between Virgin Atlantic and Flybe.

Passengers can book tickets to travel from Edinburgh and Aberdeen with Flybe, and connect on to Virgin flights at Heathrow.

The new codeshare flights will operate from 26 March offering four services a day from Edinburgh and up to three a day from Aberdeen with a single check-in and bag drop, as well as opening new destinations for Scottish travellers and helping to boost inbound tourism and investment.

The new Virgin destinations on offer are Atlanta, Boston, Delhi, Dubai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Lagos, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Shanghai and Washington.

Flybe chief revenue officer Vincent Hodder said: “We are especially delighted this extension of our codeshare partnership with Virgin will enable us to serve Scottish travellers and global visitors.

“It is a further step toward our ambition of being a ‘One Stop to the World’ for the UK regions and we look forward to cementing our commitment to Scotland and welcoming even more Virgin passengers on our new Heathrow flights from the end of March.”
