Vueling adds Orly service

A new route from next March between Bimingham and Paris Orly has been announced by Vueling, the Spanish airline member of the International Airlines Group (IAG) and part of the oneworld alliance.

Vueling, which was run by Alex Cruz before his appointment as CEO of British Airways, will operate initially four times a week, increasing to six times a week in June 2017. Flights will be by a 220-seat Airbus A321 aircraft.

Vueling launched operations from Birmingham in May 2015 with direct services to Barcelona, announcing new routes to Alicante, Tenerife Sur and Malaga shortly after.

Director Gabriel Schmilovich said: “We are very happy to be adding another new route.”

Birmingham Airport CEO Paul Kehoe added: “It’s great to see Vueling go from strength to strength here and introducing a range of popular destinations in a relatively short space of time.

“Orly is located only 13km from central Paris with excellent transport routes into the city and will certainly be popular with business travellers as well as those looking for a city break.”
