Leonardo's new NYX brand

Israeli group Leonardo Hotels is creating a new lifestyle brand called NYX next year with an initial three properties. The first is in Italy’s fashion capital, where preparations are almost complete for the grand opening of NYX Milan.

The currently-named Fusion Hotel Prague and Gran Atlanta Madrid will close in January and next spring respectively for renovations and will then also reopen under the new name. 

The group says NYX properties will have excellent locations and an inspiring atmosphere with an array of regional influences and local character. They will also provide an outlet called ARTmosphere for well-known artists. Staff will be known as the City Lovers and will be expected to help to create a metropolitan flair in each hotel to provide “a mirror of urban lifestyles”.

Elsewhere, the group is planning an extensive renovation at the Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam City Centre following its acquisition in April. The building will close on 2 January and reopen on 16 March. 

The company says Amsterdam is an important destination for Leonardo and has recently announced it is planning a 19-storey 4-star superior property for its Royal brand opening in autumn 2018 in the city’s Overamstel district.
