BTN Christmas Quiz

The fun is taking part and not necessarily winning

Do enter, even if you can’t name all the aircraft. We have plenty of prizes. The fun is taking part. Ask your friends to help. All they need to do is go to the website.

We will reveal the correct solutions on Monday 9 January 2017, our next publishing date. Closing point is Friday evening 6 January 2017 at 24:00 (GMT). There is no cash prize alternative and on all matters the editor-in-chief's decision is final.

Our thanks to  easyJet  for the first prize of two return flights anywhere on the system (must be taken by 31 March 2017 and there are some restricted dates). Gatwick has offered free parking, and Fast Track too. If yours is another airport, we will talk to them but no promises. Also use of the Swissport Aspire lounge. BTN stayed at the Amba Hotel Charing Cross and was most impressed. We’ve a dinner, bed and breakfast for two plus tickets for ‘The Comedy About A Bank Robbery’ at the Criterion Theatre, Piccadilly Circus, just a short walk away.

There are six special prizes courtesy of Crecy the aviation (and transport) bookseller for your choice of its Aviation History titles. The Royal Aeronautical Society has chipped in with three copies of its special book 'Delivering the Dream'.

Our special thanks go to Rod Simpson for his photographs. Rod is the author of more than a dozen aviation books, chairman of Air-Britain and editor of its house magazine, Aviation World.

Our only stipulation is that you have to be a registered BTN reader to make an entry. Subscribe for free

The tie break is very simple. "Which is the best terminal at Heathrow and why?" But in 10 words or less.

Please send your numbered answers to quiz@btnews.co.uk together with your answer to the tie break.

Closing date is Friday evening 6 January at 24:00 (GMT).

As an opener, here are three famous former seaborne mobile landing strips called aircraft carriers. At the moment, the Royal Navy does not operate any but Queen Elizabeth is promised for next year. HMS A, B & C please and the approximate years the pictures were taken.
