BA in new deal with Alaska

Access for British Airways passengers to more US cities moves up a notch from Wednesday (23 November) when a new codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines comes into force.

Under the deal, BA customers can book seats on Alaska flights to seven destinations across the US west coast and three in Hawaii – Honolulu, Kona and Kahului – from Alaska's hub in Seattle.

Passengers travelling to Oregon’s largest city, Portland, can head there from San Francisco and Seattle, as well as from BA’s newest Californian gateway, San Jose.

BA customers can also buy tickets from Seattle on to Salt Lake City, Boise, Fairbanks and Spokane and from San Jose to Santa Ana.

BA chairman and CEO Alex Cruz said: “BA and Alaska have been frequent-flyer programme partners for more than 15 years but we are delighted to extend this partnership further.

“The codeshare will make onward connections to Alaska’s vast network of destinations seamless, from the booking process through to flying. It is fantastic news for business travellers, opening up US cities that have previously been difficult to access from the UK.”

BA operates two flights a day to Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and daily flights to San Jose, San Diego and Vancouver.
