A new luxury lounge operated by the airline alliance SkyTeam has been unveiled at Beijing Capital International Airport.
It is the second such facility in the Greater China region and the sixth worldwide.
The 800sq m area is open to First and Business Class passengers and Elite Plus members flying on any of the 12 SkyTeam airlines serving the airport and has seating for 160 guests.
The lounge was built in collaboration with SkyTeam by members China Eastern and China Southern. It will be managed and operated on behalf of the alliance by Beijing Aviation Ground Services.
A behind-the-scenes tour of the new lounge was hosted by SkyTeam CEO and managing director Perry Cantarutti and chairman Michael Wisbrun last week for guests who were in Beijing for a SkyTeam governing board meeting.
“More than 14m SkyTeam passengers fly through Beijing annually and, as the largest alliance in Greater China, opening our second lounge underscores our commitment to enhancing the travel experience for our top customers in the region,” Cantarutti said.
“SkyTeam now offers more branded lounges across its global network than any other airline alliance. They are popular and we are developing plans to expand the portfolio even further.”
