In the latest move in what it calls an “ambitious and dynamic” fleet and network expansion programme, Oman Air is starting a daily service between Manchester and Muscat from 1 May.
Flights will take 7hr 30min and operate with a Boeing 787-800 Dreamliner. The new service is in addition to the airline’s double-daily operation between Heathrow and Muscat, making Manchester the only UK airport outside London to have direct flights to the Omani capital.
Country manager UK & Ireland Simon Cook said: “This is an exciting expansion, allowing British travellers to enjoy the convenience of flying direct from the north of England to Muscat and also the opportunity to connect with Oman Air’s global network.
“It demonstrates our commitment to developing our global network and in particular catering for the growing demand from the UK for our award winning product and inflight service.”
There is also change for the airline at Heathrow, where it currently operates out of two terminals but is consolidating its twice-daily services to Terminal 4 from the end of January. It will use the Etihad lounge for premium passengers.
