Another SSJ100 for CityJet

The third of 15 Superjet SSJ100 aircraft on order by CityJet was handed over to the airline on Thursday by the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) and Superjet International (SJI) at the SJI international centre in Venice.

The aircraft has 98 ergonomic leather seats with a 32in pitch in a five-abreast configuration in an interior designed by the Italian company Pininfarina.

In addition to the 15 on order, CityJet has options on a further 16 SSJ100s on a contract that also provides for fleet technical support and crew training.

The first two aircraft, delivered in June and July this year (BTN--), have been operated by CityJet on its scheduled routes and charter services, as well as on wet-lease services on behalf of other airlines.

As of last week, the CityJet SSJ100 fleet had accumulated almost 1,000 hours in the air on nearly 750 flights, with the aircraft having visited over 60 airports across Europe since June.

There are 83 SSJ100s in service worldwide with 12 companies and organisations from Europe, Russia, North America and South East Asia, with flights to more than 150 destinations. The fleet has flown more than 154,000 flights in just over five years of commercial operation.
