Airports expo expansion

Organisers of the British-Irish Airports Expo are planning a major expansion for the event next year following the success of the inaugural show this summer at the NEC Birmingham. The expo will again by hosted by Birmingham International Airport.

The launch edition, which had almost 150 exhibitors, was described as having exceeded all expectations, attracting 1,500 attendees and receiving positive feedback. It was also the largest airport-industry exhibition so far staged in Britain or Ireland.

The 2017 expo, organised by PPS Media and Events and taking place on 7-8 June, has moved to a significantly larger hall at the NEC, with the number of exhibitors expected to grow to 200-plus. The vehicle-display area is also increasing in size and will be indoors.

PPS said: “The British-Irish Airports Expo provides the perfect platform for the airport community to come together from its many regions to share ideas and expertise, and begin planning its next efforts to enhance efficiency and performance.

“As a dynamic free-to-attend show, it will provide invaluable opportunities to meet all the leading vendors and service providers supporting airports on these shores. an education platform and substantial industry networking.”
