Emirates’ US$11m lounge

A major makeover costing US$11m of the Emirates Business Class lounge at Concourse B of Dubai International Airport was unveiled by the airline last week, marking the end of a two-year refurbishment.

The new look includes three distinct “concept areas” – a food and drink section, health hub and a Moët & Chandon champagne lounge – which are in addition to seven other locations within the site.

All food and drinks are free for Emirates First Class and Business Class customers, as well as Gold and Silver members of the Skywards frequent-flyer programme.

The newly-refurbished lounge measures nearly 10,000sq ft and can accommodate more than 1,500 people – a 40% increase in seating capacity.

Among other changes, the children’s play area with arcade-quality games has been doubled in size, and the Timeless Spa has been renovated and offers hair, beauty and therapy treatments.

Lounge guests can also refresh with a shower, unwind at designated “quiet areas”, stay up to date with the latest news and live sports and stay connected with free wi-fi.

The area is one of six similar Emirates installations at Dubai and is part of a network of 39 dedicated airport lounges located within major airports around the world.
