Metropole's new King's Suite

This year’s venue for the AOA annual conference, the Hilton London Metropole – the UK's largest conference and meetings hotel – has unveiled its new-look King's Suite, following completion of a refurbishment costing nearly £1m.

With increased capacity accommodating up to 1,700 delegates, the renovations feature a new design along with technological advancements designed to meet the needs of today's meeting organiser.

The suite, in the hotel's West Wing Convention Centre, is the hotel's largest conference room, delivering 1,062sq m of pillar-free event space. The increased capacity enables 1,700 to be accommodated for a reception or theatre-style, 1,080 for lunch or dinner on round tables, 880 for a dinner-dance and 664 cabaret-style.

For smaller events, the room can be divided into two, while organisers needing extra space can combine the King's Suite with the Monarch Suite, immediately below, for maximum flexibility.

The new high-specification technology includes digital mixing console (DMC) for ultimate control over both light and sound, improved lighting options, including individual colour lights for different areas of the room, and climate control managed via a digital panel, to set the right mood.

These features join advanced facilities already available at the hotel, including 100MB high-speed data lines, back projection and state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology.
