Having been closed for nearly a year, Disney’s dedicated Newport Bay convention centre at Marne-la-Vallée, Paris, has reopened after an impressive regeneration. Under the watchful eye of designer Sylvie Massara, full-time “Imagineer” of Disneyland Paris, the dedicated 5,500sq m centre has been literally ripped apart with the sea the virtual backdrop to a sophisticated venue. See Disney Paris in this issue. While part of the 1,093-room Newport Bay Club hotel complex, the largest on the Disney site, the convention centre has its own check-in and offers top-quality catering facilities to suit the client.
Disney Business Solutions says that from a practical point of view gatherings from 50 to around 1,750 can be accommodated, the huge ballroom capable of holding 1,350 for a dinner, with a fully-equipped theatre stage, yet capable of being reduced in modular sections, still looking very smart. To hire the whole venue costs from €25,000 a day and to that must the added the catering and support charges plus accommodation. But for companies such as PWC, Renault and Tupperware, it is an ideal location, with fast trains to the Disney station from all over Europe, and Eurostar from the UK.
