Jobs galore at Stansted

Hundreds of available careers at Stansted are being promoted at the airport’s latest Jobs Fair next Thursday, 13 October, at the Hilton Hotel from 10:00 to 14:30, with Stansted’s newest airline, Jet2.com, among the exhibitors.

The carrier is looking to fill 250 new pilot, engineering and cabin-crew positions for its new Stansted base, which will see the airline fly to 21 destinations from next spring.

Nearly 50 other employers, including National Express, Swissport, World Duty Free, Harrods Aviation and Ted Baker will also be in attendance, showcasing more than 500 full-time and part-time posts to aspiring airport workers.

Stansted corporate social responsibility manager Marcella M’Rabety said: “The airport is already the biggest single employment site in the East of England and home to more than 11,600 workers.

“But with passenger numbers hitting 24m a year and new airlines such as Jet2.com launching flights next year, hundreds more new jobs are being created.

“One of the many benefits of working here is the wide range of public transport discounts for staff, with the Travel Card offering significant savings on standard rail, bus and coach fares.”

The Jobs Fair is organised by Stansted in partnership with the airport’s Employment and Skills Academy.
