Hong Kong-based independent hotel brand Ovolo has landed in Sydney with the transformation of two signature properties at Darling Harbour and Woolloomooloo.
Founded in 2002, the Ovolo Group has become one of Hong Kong's largest independent owner/operator hospitality firms in little over a decade, with an emphasis on providing guests with “the best in effortless living”.
Founder Girish Jhunjhnuwala said: “We have been on a mission to redefine modern hospitality by creating new and intuitive concepts that deliver from the customers' point of view.
“It is an honour now to own and operate two of the most iconic landmarks in the great city of Sydney where we hope world travellers and Australians alike will take the chance to experience what defines the Ovolo touch."
Jhunjhnuwala said the two heritage-listed Sydney properties were both a reflection of where the city had come from and a representation of “everything the future of hospitality holds for millennial travellers on the lookout for a travel experience that moves away from the formula approach”.
Ovolo Hotels, he added, provided business and other travellers with “all the comforts of intelligent, technology-driven living and yet each hotel resonates the local culture and history of its address”.
