The Arora Group has announced it has been granted planning permission to develop a new hotel at Terminal 2, also known as the Queen’s Terminal, at Heathrow.
It will be the first hotel in the airport’s Central Terminal Area, which is set to undergo a state-of-the-art transformation as part of Heathrow’s new look.
Making the announcement, Arora founder and chairman Surinder Arora said the new property will have 298 bedrooms and be linked directly to the Queen’s Terminal, giving passengers instant access to the airport from their doorstep.
Arora was in “detailed talks regarding potential partnership with leading brands”, he added.
Combined with the new development at Heathrow’s Terminal 4 which encompasses a Crowne Plaza and a Holiday Inn Express, the latest announcement means Arora has 1,048 new bedrooms in the pipeline in the airport area.
The group has also in the past six months completed the purchase of the franchise and occupational lease of Hilton London Stansted, and the opening of the landmark InterContinental London – the O2.
With these developments and on top of managing 1,000,000sq ft of office space, the group has eight hotels and 2,300,000sq ft of hotel property in the UK.
