Luton extends free wi-fi

Passengers flying through Luton Airport (LTN) can now access up to 4hr of free wi-fi at speeds of up to 1mbps.

The service, provided by Arqiva, puts LTN ahead of Stansted, which gives 60min of free wi-fi, and Gatwick, with 90min, and on a par with Heathrow. Super-fast 5mbps access is available for £3.

Passengers at Luton can now also top-up electronic devices free after LTN became the first UK airport to partner with Chargebox to provide secure charging stations.

Located in the departure lounge, the two units offer a two-step “Connect & Lock” process to ensure passengers can travel with full batteries and peace of mind.

Luton Airport now has 16 airlines flying to 123 destinations, more than ever before.

Commercial director Rupert Lawrie said: “We’re introducing a range of improvements as part of our £110m transformation, and staying connected is important to our customers.”

The main airport hotels at LTN, including Holiday Inn Express, Ibis Hotel, Ramada Encore, Hampton by Hilton and Premier Inn, also all offer free wi-fi to guests.
