Extra capacity from Jet

Jet Airways is upgrading its daily flights between Mumbai and Singapore by deploying the Boeing 777-300 ER, the largest aircraft in its fleet, from next Saturday, 6 August, resulting in a 50% increase in capacity.

The airline said the route had seen a growth in traffic of more than 34% in the past two years, particularly among business travellers.

Jet says with the introduction of the new aircraft it now offers a “consistent and seamless product” between Singapore and London and return via its hub in Mumbai.

Westbound timings are scheduled to ensure business travellers depart Singapore in the evening to arrive in London early morning, while having the option eastbound to arrive in Singapore either in the morning or evening.

In other developments, Jet has launched daily non-stop flights from Amsterdam to enhance connectivity between Europe and India via the Netherlands, with two daily services from Schiphol, one each to its hubs in Mumbai and New Delhi.

The airline has signed a codeshare partnership with KLM to provide connections for passengers to and from key UK regional airports including Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
