TAP boosts US services
A new daily service between Lisbon and New York JFK was launched this month by TAP Portugal just three weeks after the airline opened service to Boston. The new flights join TAP US services to Newark and Miami.
The JFK and Boston services are operated by TAP’s new A330 with an Executive Class cabin featuring 20 lie-flat seats from Stelia Solstys.
The other cabins have new slim-line Zim EC01 seats. The 104 in Economy-Plus offer a 34in pitch and the 147 in Economy have a 31in pitch.
TAP’s cabin refurbishment programme also includes an advanced audio and Panasonic EX-3 inflight entertainment system with individual on-demand facility.
TAP has also boosted its US network with a codeshare agreement with JetBlue Airways, opening up routes to 34 US destinations with connections through the US carrier’s operations at JFK and Boston.
TAP, a Star Alliance member, has also this month launched a second service between Lisbon and Vigo in Spain. The route is being flown by ATR 72s operated by White Airways. TAP now serves 12 destinations in Spain from Lisbon.
