Economy Plus for Brussels

Lufthansa Group member Brussels Airlines (SN) is introducing an Economy Plus product from next Friday (1 July) on long-haul flights to Africa and North America.

The 32 Economy Plus seats on the A330 will be in the first four rows of the Economy cabin with extra legroom and a recline of 20deg compared to 8deg for Economy Class. There will also be champagne before meals, amenity kits and chocolates.

Chief commercial officer Lars Redeligx said: “We see an increasing demand for a product between Business Class and Economy Class.

“Our new Economy Plus offers more space, more comfort and more amenities at a very attractive price.

“After implementing our new commercial strategy successfully for short-haul flights, we are now starting to implement a new product generation also on our long-haul flights.”

The Economy Plus move is the latest upgrade by SN, which announced in December it was phasing out its fleet of Avro RJ100 regional jets by the end of 2017 in favour of a mix of Airbus models.
