Three months after launching the route with a B777-200LR, Emirates is increasing capacity on its daily non-stop services between Dubai and Auckland with an A380.
The double-deck flagship will operate on the route, currently the world’s longest, from 30 October.
Flights connect with Emirates’ 39 European destinations, as well as other destinations in West Asia, Africa and the Middle East. There are also connections in both directions with 10 A380 destinations, giving passengers the opportunity to fly all the way from Auckland to Europe by Emirates superjumbo..
The first flight from Dubai to Auckland and return at the beginning of March was operated by an A380 to especially commemorate the start of the non-stop route, but the flights have since been flown by the Boeing 777-200LR.
Emirates is the largest A380 operator in the world with 80 in service, and last month placed an order for another two, to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The aircraft serve 40 destinations worldwide, one in every four on the airline’s network, with Vienna joining the list from 1 July.
First and Business Class passengers on Emirates’ A380s have an exclusive onboard lounge and Business Class also features new-generation full-flat seats, each with direct aisle access.
