Air Canada Rouge launched its new seasonal non-stop service between Glasgow and Toronto on Tuesday with a celebration at Glasgow Airport. The airline will operate three times per week until 25 September 2016 (westbound).
Guests at the ribbon-cutting included Scotland’s minister for International development and Europe Alasdair Allan, Glasgow city council leader Frank McAveety and Glasgow Airport managing director Amanda McMillan, who is also CEO of AGS Airports.
Air Canada sales director for Europe Margaret Skinner said: “We have a long history in Scotland, with our first flight arriving in Prestwick in 1943. We are proud to serve the Scottish market.”
The new route is designed to offer passengers from western Scotland increased travel options with not only non-stop access to Toronto but also convenient connections through the Toronto hub to our an extensive network in Canada, the US, Latin America and the Caribbean.
The route will be operated by a 282-seat B767-300ER in a two-cabin configuration with 24 Premium Rouge seats and 258 Economy seats, including 35 Preferred seats with additional legroom, in the rear cabin.
Air Canada Rouge also operates an Edinburgh – Toronto service with up to four flights per week throughout the summer period.
